2. Thomas Leonard’s 15 Coaching Proficiencies

Thomas Leonard is often referred to as the father of coaching. His 15 coaching proficiencies were considered groundbreaking when he first introduced and taught them 20 years ago. Never before – and never since then – has the craft of coaching been so completely and inspiringly described. New coaches were quickly lifted to unexpected levels of quality, and experienced coaches were positively surprised that there was a higher level of coaching and much more to learn. It was a breath of fresh air – and still is.
I have taught this class four times at CoachVille (a coaching school founded by Thomas Leonard), and several briefer versions of it in Sweden, and even the most experienced participants say that these simple but genius principles have contributed enormously to their development.
