About Gunnel Ryner

Gunnel Ryner is a behavioral scientist and one of Sweden’s leading experts in strengths-based approaches. Her mission is to help people and organizations make use of their strengths, learn from successes, find solutions and build development on what already works well. She has gathered the gems from methods such as Solution Focus, Appreciative Inquiry and Positive Deviance, and teaches them in an engaging and inspiring way.

Gunnel is a highly sought-after speaker who, with her solid expertise, infectious enthusiasm and positive energy, has inspired tens of thousands of people to shift their focus and develop themselves and their organizations based on what they are already doing well. She has been on the list of Sweden’s 100 most popular speakers every year since it was first published in 2018. She speaks just as happily in English as in Swedish.

Gunnel also speaks about happiness at work, engagement, communication, difficult conversations, leadership and change.

Alongside speaking, Gunnel loves to write. So far she has written three bestselling books, the most recent of which, “Hitta rätt i stället för att leta fel” (Finding What’s Right Instead of Looking for What’s Wrong), was published in 2023.

Gunnel holds a bachelor’s degree in education and has broad professional experience from both the public and private sectors, including roles as HR Manager, HR Consultant, Office Manager, Project Manager and trainer. In 2007 she started her own company, initially working mainly as a coach, coach trainer and organizational consultant. Over time, she received more and more requests to speak, and since 2013 she has worked full time as a speaker and facilitator, delivering an average of 60 talks and workshops each year. Her clients include municipalities, regions and government agencies as well as companies across all industries. Audiences range from ten to several thousand people.
